Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been in a relationship for more than a year now. There have also been several speculations about the couple getting married soon. It was also being said that the two have to try to build their love nest, for which, the two have been house-hunting for a long. Setting the record straight, Ranbir finally acknowledged his relationship with Alia and called her his girlfriend. He also went on to confirm the speculations saying that he would have married his lady-love this year itself had there not been a pandemic situation.
Ranbir opened up about his personal life and wedding to Alia to film journalist Rajeev Masand in an interview. "I would have been married to Alia Bhatt if the pandemic wouldn't have happened. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life," he said.
He also said that they would hopefully marry in 2021. The two had been living together during the lockdown. When Ranbir was asked if he took any online classes, he replied, "My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is -- from guitar to screenwriting. I always feel like an underachiever next to her. But no, I didn’t take any classes. Initially, we were dealing with the family crisis, and then I got into reading, spent time with my family, and I watch two-three films every day."
