Rakhi Sawant was born on 25 November 1978 in Mumbai. She did her schooling from Gokalibai High School, Vile Parle, Mumbai. Later she went to Mithibai College. Her father Anand Sawant was a constable in the Mumbai Police. Her brother Rakesh Sawant is a film director. Rakhi was fond of dancing and acting from a young age, but her parents did approve of it.
